SF,

Redwing came with a 1992 (or was it 1994, I forget) used Evinrude 4 hp twin
cyliner with N/F. We used it for a year before we bought the Nissan 5 hp
4-stroke. It *always* started and ran well. I think maybe it was easier to
start than our new Nissan. (At my tiny size any engine that actually starts
when I try it is very easy to start!)

With the two cyliners, it was much quieter and smoother than most 2 strokes,
but not as quiet as our Nissan 4-stroke. I think it may have been smoother
(less vibration) than our Nissan 4 stroke, but I'm not sure.

It wasn't that hard to use the Evinrude by spinning it 180 degrees, but I
like having the reverse gear on the Nissan better.

I can take the Nissan 4-stoke to Lake Tahoe and other fresh water reservoirs
that no longer permit 2-strokes.
