   If you are trying to sail a P. 15 with a second reef and no jib it has to
be blowing like stink! In these conditions the seas are very choppy and it's
no wonder she won't point. I have only one reef point in my little Potter,
and she goes to weather well with a reefed main and jib. If I drop the jib
she really slows down to weather. A double reefed main just doesn't produce
enough power to push a light hull into heavy chop. In this case I would start
the motor and try to motorsail through the chop.
