There was, quite some time ago, a cutter-rigged P-15 with a
bowsprit illustrated in one of Larry Brown's books on Potter
sailing.. If I remember correctly, Larry saw and photographed
the P-15 while sailing just outside of Marina Del Rey during his
"Sailing Across America" jaunt. I always wondered just what
that rig did to the P-15's sailing qualities.. Undoubtedly a custom
built modification by the owner. My guess would be that tacking
a cutter rig on a P-15 would be a pain.. one more set of sheets to
adjust in a fairly cramped space, and adjusting a cutters foresails
to avoid backwinding the main can be tricky..
