The accuracy seems to be equally poor in or out of the boat, although the
board probably doesn't help. Yes, GPS gets much more attention than the
compass. But the Mark 1 eyeball is still the primary navigational equipment
on Akala. I always sail with a pair.

That's probably 'cause it's too close to that iron centreboard. But please,
let's don't get on a degaussing kick <g>. Get a good GPS and don't worry
about the compass...
