[WWP] Rub Rails & Interior Carpet

All:

IM equipped the cabin of my 1998 P-19 with an indoor-outdoor type of
plastic carpeting, which has been wet with fresh and salt water. No
problem with mildew to date. Feels good on bare feet and keeps the
gritties off the floor. However, if it gets wet, I do rinse and remove
it to dry out, which is not often. I have a foam rubber trunk seal and
four latches that work great, unless you hit bottom or a rock hard and
break the latches.

In '98 IM also offered an optional rubber open grid type of floor
matting. One to fit the cabin and one to fit the cockpit. My sailing
buddy got this option on his P-19. I don't know if this is still
offered. It has drain channels, but tends to collect debris. But this
would probably work great in the more humid climates.

I clean the white vinyl (?) rubrails with a wet rag and some powdered
Bon Ami household cleanser. Works good. If something has penetrated
the surface and stained it, a scrub with acetone usually does the job.
