A few weeks ago I told the list how I found it easy to dip the
end of some drain hose I was installing into boiling water and
then insert over plumbing fittings. I've now found it even
easier to use a heat gun on the end of the hose, and then push it
over the fittings. Heat also helps you get hoses off.
