I live in Monterey and I saw a Guppy for sale a yaer ago for almost nothing. I've been kicking myself ever since, because I went sailing that day instead of buying the boat.
West Wight Potter 19 is located near Yreka, CA on I-5, north of Redding. This is a 1984 boat, but has been sailed very little. The sails are still krinkly! New owner has the choice of red and white main or brand new in the box white mainsail. Also comes with a good genoa and solid red jib. (without genoa, cost drops $125, but the genoa is what makes the 19 perform in my opinion). Boat has factory baby stays which help tremendously stepping the mast. Has adjustable back stay. Comes with clean portapotty which stores on starboard compartment. Has good cushions, and no musty smell or mildew in cabin - non smoker. White hull has red accent stripe. Extra factory windows in cabin and aft bunks. Boat needs cabin door and hand holds revarnished. All lines and rigging in good shape. Read to sail today! Trailer has a few small rust spots (cosmetic only) but has good tires and a spare. It has a mount to carry the 5 horse outboard on the front of the trailer when towing. The rudder is in excellent shape. Am here in Northwestern Wisconsin, looking to buy a small travel trailer that can be towed to hunting land in the fall, and out onto the ice in the winter for fishing. Not in great shape - but not in *bad* shape; the trailer is brand-new, the boat is from the 80s w/blue hull that is in fine condition. Gear is complete and decent, but new running rigging would be a good idea, plus a LOT of cleaning. The outboard is a 30 lb. MinnKota that is marginal for anything much more than docking-type maneuvering. But for $1500 including a brand-new trailer, you can't go wrong. My schedule makes delivery impossible, so you'll need to come to Bradenton, Florida, to pick up. I have just purchased a new P15 and would like to see this one go to a good home, preferably with someone younger and more active who couldn't otherwise afford one of these fine boats, which is why the low price.

When I sold my last boat about 10 years ago I thought to myself..."it's OK, I can live without sailing and make do with the house and garden." I did fine for a number of years but lately the "itch" is back. I can't afford to invest a tremendous amount but want something that can handle 3 for weekending so the P19 seems just right. I'm interested in a 1996 or newer boat. Good condition (especially the trailer, sails and motor). Desired but not mandatory options include strengthened hull, bow pulpit, roller furling, rigged for single handed sailing.
