To get there: From the north, do whatever you can to get through San Francisco and head down 101 to Redwood City. From the northern East Bay, take the Bay Bridge or San Mateo bridge across then head south on 101 to Redwood City. Take the "Hwy. 84 / Seaport Blvd." exit and follow the maze to the left and back under 101.

From the south take 101 north to the Seaport Blvd. exit and go right on Seaport Blvd. From the southern East Bay, take the Dumbarton Bridge and head north on 101 to Seaport Blvd.

All: Go north on Seaport Blvd. to Chesapeake Dr. and turn left. At the end of the road are a large parking lot on the left for rigging and the launch ramp on the right.

Bring $5.00 for the launching/parking fee.



Potters at Pete's Harbor, Redwood City

Restaurants include the Harbor House and the Diving Pelican.

You can sail out Redwood Creek to the Bay or just potter about in the harbor and creek. There are also some sloughs around Bair Island that could be explored if the water is deep enough. The remains of the destroyer Thompson may be seen in the shallows outside the mouth of Redwood Creek. The old ship was used as a practice bombing target during WWII.
