(I wrote this several days ago, but just noticed I forgot to queue it.)

Richard-

The outline drawing they used is actually for the first generation US-built
Potter. Hull number 151 was apparently the first, or nearly first. US
Potter built by Herb Stewart of HMS Marine. (I've heard reports of a #145
in the US.) HMS used that same drawing, with evolutionary changes, in all
the gunter rig brochures, and they all had the number 151 on them. The
oldest HMS brochure I have shows a photo of 151 on the front. The rest of
the information on that page of "Sailing Boats" applies to the C Type
Potter, I think. I don't have the book, but I think the page you refer to
is on the WWP web page.

The C Type Potters seem to have numbers less than 100. Perhaps they
continued the sequence where Stanley Smith left off.
