I plan to also use the cut piece for the hatch, much like the factory hatch
to port.

When waters are declared No Discharge, I believe that only applies to head
waste, not the so-called Gray Water sink discharge. I asked a co-worker,
president of a local marina association, and he confirmed that on his body
of water gray water discharge is okay, even though it is a No Discharge zone.

Certainly other states may write their laws differently.
