Re: More on winterizing.

I don't know whether I'm contributing or not, but based on this discussion I
got a little concerned as to how to winterize my Honda 2. Here at Lake Tahoe
our winters are long and cold, although not bitter cold. Last winter was 9
months long, although that was a little unusual. This is about the end of my
boating season and I'm lucky to get her in the water again until late March or
April. The daytime temps are now in the 40's and 50's but will soon be in the
20's and 30's, although a cold snap of below zero has happened for a couple of
weeks out of the year occasionally. We are due for a cold one. The El Nina
that normally follows El Nina, more times than not, brings the Sierra a
relatively dry, but cold, winter.

The nearest Honda dealer, which deals in outboards, farm equipment, and all
kinds of motorized Honda stuff for the water and land is in Reno--Nevada Power
Products. I called them today and asked should I use stabilizer or drain the
sucker. They said drain it. That is how they winterize all the equipment
they service. They are one of the biggest Honda dealers in the West. I don't
know if that means squat, but since the Potterers seem to be split 50/50, I
will side with the dealer. I'm gonna drain it.

PS -- There is a preferable way of winterizing--trailer to Florida for a few
months. Maybe next year. This year there's too many storms anyway! :-)
