Group,
I recently had a forestay that broke several wires and I replaced it with a
new one from west marine. The eye on the mast was secured with what was
apparently 2 pop-rivets 3/16" in diameter. I used standard pop-rivets of
the same size to replace them. This started me to thinking about the
relative strength of the wire versus the attachment. It seems to me that
pop-rivets do not have much strength on tension. Has anyone had a failure?
Also, I put a fuel pump on my Nissan 3.5 so that I could use an external
tank. I had an awkward experience trying to fill the internal tank in a
rough lake and vowed not to have to do it again. Any one had any experience
with this conversion?
