Our new/used P-19 came with an 86 A.H. gel battery which is of undetermined
age. It didn't come with a charger. The battery hasn't been charged in a
long time, although it still ran the radio. I had the battery tested at the
marina with a "load test" and they told me the battery was no good.
I don't understand the characteristics of batteries well enough to know if
charging it before testing would influence the test results. If we charged
the battery before re-testing, would that make a difference? Can anyone
explain this (and recommend a good book to read to learn about this stuff?)
Also, can anyone recommend a good charger at a good price?
Thanks,
Judith Blumhorst
