It seems to me that no matter what the intent, innocent or otherwise, it
would be well to completely refrain from personal comments about others.
Even with the best of intent, limitations of email and short-fuse response
times often lead others to mis-interpret or perhaps over-react.
In addition, all of this extraneous material does end up in the archives,
making the search for relevant information more difficult.
Heated personal exchanges also drive others away from the group. This last
set of exchanges has caused at least one person to unsubscribe. Previous
exchanges have caused several others to unsubscribe. This is a loss to our
community.
If you positively must express your opinion about another, please use
individual email, addressing directly any/all of those you think might be
interested. But PLEASE don't use our village green to perpetuate or settle
personal antipathy.
