I read a suggestion in Sail magazine that recommended putting
these solar vents in the hatch board. This precludes having to drill
holes in the hull or deck, and since some of us have to replace our
hatchboards every few years anyway, if you screw up the installation you
will not have to look at it forever.

Unfortunately, I don't think I can use this suggestion because
my hatch boards face north. Nobody has mentioned how well the solar
vents work on indirect light.
