Durring the week I work, I suppose that its important work, it =
helps save lives here in Miami. My wife and I used to jump on the =
Harley and ride all over Florida, renting canoes and camping in the =
state parks. Eight years ago Maggie was born and the bike started =
rusting, I worked on ventilators and other life support equipment, and =
maintained a few distractions like playing in one of the local blues =
bands but that too is a lot like work. Two years ago we bought a new =
Potter 19 and the adventure is back, with Maggie along we sail the bays =
and backwaters of south Florida. Seeing stuff most people only see on =
public T.V. Far from the maddening crowd, it doesn't bother me that the =
19 is some capitalist rip off designed to fill out a catolog I mean =
thats the America I escape when the hull hits the sea. I bought this =
boat because it was inexpensive and safe for my family in my less than =
experianced hands. I think that the 19 is at least inspired by the =
original and maybe keeps up the demand for thoes wonderful 15 footers. =
I really like the 15 and would just love to have one but like the bike, =
which I still own and ride, it is not real practical for us at this time =
in our lives. As I've said, as I kick back with my hand on Corky's =
tiller and Debbie yelling at Maggie to get out of the ice chest, it just =
doesn't matter, I like to believe that as we sail our boats, potter or =
other wise, we have much in common with each other and thoes that came =
before us.
