Actually, I haven't noticed much smoke (despite the 10:1 fuel/oil ratio),
but the noise level would preclude surreptitious landings. The enemy would
hear you coming from 10 miles out.

On the plus side, the Seagull's oil slick dampens the waves when there is a
following sea.
