Next spring, my wife and I will begin the first of a planned series of
extended trips along scenic and historic North American waterways.
While many of the trips will keep to well-travelled waters, others will
take us away from possible resupply points for several weeks at a time
-- in extreme cases, for several months.

We had originally intended to make the trips in our 20-ft freight canoe,
which we rig with a square sail on the rare occasions when we find a
following wind. Now, however, we've all but decided to build or buy a
small, shoal-draft boat which we can propel either with oars or sail.
The P14/15 is one such boat, and she's on our short list. I have
doubts, though, about her ability to freight our maximum probable load
of some 1000 lb. (This includes the weight of the crew, all equipment,
and stores for several months; it does NOT include the weight of the
boat.)

Has anyone on this list ever prepared a lading curve for his (or her)
P14/15, giving draught (or freeboard) against load in the range between
500 and 1500 lb? Failing that, is it likely that International Marine
would have this information?
