That is basically in concept what I do, i just use the main halyard.
Starting at the top of the mast (back of mast when its down) i pull all the
lines 'down' the mast, wrapping the main halyard as I go in a helix pattern
and it secures all the lines to the mast. Once Iget towards the base the
side shrouds mun out of slack and I put a couple extra wraps there to keep
'em tight. Looks nice and tidy, and stays secure.
