Does sound like a good deal. Please Please Please make sure you know what
the pioneer is (and more importantly ISN'T) all about. Match it up feature
for feature, and you may find the $50 difference well worth it. If you close
your eyes and picture a handheld GPS and see more than just a lat/long and
'compass'; maybe an interface cable, or power supply cable, graphical
tracking features...you may not be envisioning the Pioneer, but maybe a
different model, or brand. I have no financial interest in any GPS company,
but I do deal with them daily at work (boating store), and have the unique
opportunity to play with many of them. (From the Mag.Pioneer to the Garmin
GPSMAP225, etc.) Not that anyone here wouldn't, but please make an informed
decision, then ask Santee Claus.... I have heard many a spouse say, "Why do
you need another one of those thingies, you don't even use the one you have!"
"But dear, that one only tells me numbers, these ones here do........" I am
not intending to start another GPS dispute, nor diminish sales of the Pioneer,
but all brand new lines, that porta pottie, a year and a half of 'ramp use
fees', $100 of the 'gonna-need-a-4-stroke-motor' fund may prove to be more
useful than "that silly little box I still haven't found a use for". :)
