Your description of San Diego sailing sounds right. Been there, done
that. Once in while, mainly in winter, the wind gets stronger.
Sometimes too strong, but rarely. People sail here with LARGE sails.
150% genoas or larger and spinnakers are the rule, not the exception. I
guess I'm the exception.
