Hi
The subject was sailing with only a jib. The respondent
mentioned that the boat won't point up if you fall
off. This brought to mind an article I read in
"Boat Owner" a sailing magazine from England.

The author has a design for a radio-activated tiller
tender switch that puts the tiller hard over when
the button the skpper carries is pressed. For those
times when you are single handed and fall out.

He also mentions a low tech method, tieing a line around the
tiller and dragging it behind the boat. The line gives you
something to grab when overboard that pulls the tiller over
so your boat won't sail off with out you.

Unfortunately this is one more thing to worry about when
switching from wind to motor power. I've already wrapped
a line around my prop once due to inattention.
