Has anybody contacted Merc or Tohatsu customer service on
this problem? My limited experience with outboards tells me
that this shouldn't happen. Maybe there's a bad bunch of
shear pins out there or perhaps somebody is selling the
wrong aftermarket item for that motor.
Since this is almost a safety of life and property issue,
it's something that should be brought to the manufacturers
attention.
