Greetings gang,

While browsing the library for a book I came across one with a photo of a
tug boat on the cover. Judging the book by its cover I checked out "
Woman in the Wheelhouse " by Nancy Taylor Robson.

Little did I suspect that this really great read [ especially if you want
to really know what it is like to work on a tug boat ] was a true story
based in my area of Wilmington, Delaware...Philadelphia, etc. ...and the
area I boat in quite a bit !

THEN....yesterday I'm standing in line at the checkout counter at our Boat
/ U. S. store and I overhear the chap in front of me saying he was the
captian of the Mary Lou....a tug based here in Wilmington ...about 1/4 mile
from my usual launch ramp. We got to chatting and I asked him if he
ever read " Woman in the Wheelhouse ?". He said he not only did he read
the book he knows the the woman [ now a tug captian ] and she was a freind
of his ! He ask me about my boat...and since I always carry a small
photo of my " was-a-Bay-Hen "...now a mini motor curising-launch....he said
: " oh yea !....I see you out on thw water all the time! Next time be
sure to come along side and tie up to Mary Lou and ask for Captain
Bob...and come aboard for coffee and doughnuts ".

Ain't messing about in boats fun? ;-D> Nice surprise! There _are_
advantages to have a somewhat unique [ unusual, distinctive, oddball,
etc. ? ] looking boat !
