A while back there was some discussion of cheap easy knotmeters. The
West Marine flyer that I received today has a "Knotstick" advertised for
$23.49 (normally $38.49) that looks like a simple solution to the
problem. (Pg. 13) It appears to work on a spring/drag principal where a
line is thrown out and the amount of drag is converted to knots on a
calibrated spring scale on the inside of the clear tube. It claims to
have three ranges 0-3-6-9 knots which sounds just right for Potters of
either size.

Anybody have any experience with one of them?
