Hi Derick, I use the exact same system that you do on my little Potter. The
jamb cleat is mounted under the tiller. and I use a large bungee cord. I tried
this setup on my big potter and didn't like it. The dock line method works
MUCH better. I have actually used the head while she was sailing with a lashed
tiller. The early Potters used Holt Allan nylon jamb cleats for the jib
sheets, I still use them on my HMS 18.
By the way, you have one of the best built Potters ever made. I bet yours
was made about Sept. 1976 your model has through hull chain plates, a
seperate heavy duty keel housing, and a plywood reinforced bottom.
