Greetings,

Even with the cold war over, it is reassuring to hear that Potters and
Doritos will apparently survive / thrive in a nuclear winter. It is a
wonder that Kevin Costner did not choose a trusty Potter for his "Water
World" movie...

Alas, I have sold my Potter for a Precision 18, which apparently has a neat
safety hole. The aft end of the cockpit seats have a locker on each side,
one for battery and one for gas. The gas one is sealed from the inside of
the boat, but the starboard battery tray is not. A starboard knockdown
would open the inside of the boat to the sea, and unless the battery starts
spitting out hydrogen at an accelerated rate the dive klaxons sound.

But thanks to the wisdom of this list I know to stuff her with more pool
noodles than Mom's mac and cheese.
