You can tell if your boat is polyester by lightly scuffing the hull with
sandpaper and sniffing the area. It doesn't matter how old the boat is,
or how long it's cured, if it is polyester you'll smell that familiar
smell (that is if you've worked with it before). If in doubt, go to the
hardware store and take a quick sniff off of a polyester resin repair
kit to see what polyester smells like.
