Here's the other side of the coin. Picture this: the top of the roof of my
two story house sits below street level. My driveway goes up 50' in
elevation in 80' of distance AND there is a 90 degree bend halfway! My
major concern is keeping the boat on the trailer and the trailer hitched to
the truck. I welded my rear bumper to the frame, use two double safety
chains with stainless hooks, and also run a chain from the bow eye to the
bumper. My Chevy 454 pickup doesn't strain a bit going up (probably sucks
up 3 or 4 gallons of gas, tho), but backing down into the garage is an
adventure of its own. A trailer dolly is not high on my list of accesories.
