board a 28- or 36-footer, but a P14/15 is pretty confining.

Is the campground at the Isthmus reasonably close in case someone wants to
camp on shore? >>

Either the Isthmus or Emerald Bay usually has available moorings ($12 or
$13/night) during weekdays. I usually leave Sunday and come back on a
Thursday, avoiding the crowds. You can go ashore at Emerald and hike or mess
around along the pebble beach.Snorkeling is good there too.

The campground is right at the Isthmus, people take the shuttle from the
mainland and carry all thier camping gear to the campground. Winds at the
Isthmus can be strong in the afternoons, if you anchor you will need two good
anchors and chain. Anchor fore and aft with the bow towards the swell.
