Or as out of place as all the Potters built with aluminum spars since the
REAL Potter (gunter rig) design was abandoned by HMS Marine in the 1970s.
At least the lateen rig retains a three-spar configuration.

Historical notes:
Italian fishermen once plied San Francisco Bay in lateen-rigged feluccas.
Some of Van Gogh's paintings show lateen rigged fishing boats.
More Sunfish have been built and sold than any other sailboat design.
