I have used both a Navico autopilot and a QME wind vane on HAMADA, and I
found that for the everyday sailing on the river in my area, the vane can't
keep up . . . the wind is too gusty and shifty. Once you get into a
situation where you have nice steady winds, then I think the vane would be
great. But until then, I will continue to use just the autopilot.
