Not necessary. With any support system which adequately protects the lip
of the keel trunk (several easy schemes will work -- see archives), you
have
triple points of support -- more than enough redundancy. Personally, I
dislike the idea, since support at the lip is necessary in any case, to
prevent
undue side motion of the keel on rough roads, and one more point of
contact
(especially the vulnerable bottom edge of the keel) is just inviting
damage to
whatever rustproof coating is used. This can, of course, be minimized by
padding, but ... and so on. Sounds like overplanning to me.
