Gang,

Finally got to do some Potter puttering Sunday afternoon.
Son Tom and I decided NOT to cut a hole in the step under
the v-berth to move battery forward, because it might
weaken the boat (Larry C. suggested I consider whether
that was a good idea, thanks Larry). Instead, will
install the battery box at the forward end of the area
under the access lid on the left side of v-berth. Easier,
moves weight forward and doesn't weaken the boat!

Removed the door on starboard cabinet and considered
enlarging it. Decided all that would do would be to bang
on the keel trunk and still would be a smallish door. Am
going to clean it up and oil it before I replace it with 4
stainless steel stove bolts instead of 10 teensy weensy
phillips screws. While the door is off I am going to
rewire some or all of the boat since I can get in there
easier. I had installed a battery cut-off on the forward
wall of that cupboard early-on, and will install a couple
of terminal strips there.

Following advice of someone (forget who, thanks anyway) I
removed the stern light to check the sealant because there
was a leak there. Sealant?? Was none! Gasket?? Was
none! Decided against moving it to transom due to motor,
tiller, gas tank (on step) blocking the view from
astern. Will reseal it some day when it's above "too darn
cool for 3-M sealant". If you have NOT checked that
source of water leakage, suggest you do so.

Decided to replace cockpit drain system with larger
components since cockpit fitting is cracked.

Checked out CDI system and have to order a turnbuckle. At
least I understand how the thing works now. DUH!

Measured so I can get some backing plates to install on
the things I DIDN'T install.

Got cold and quit! Wintry mix expected tonight and off
and on during the week, but only 21 days until April.
