http://www.winternet.com/~eric/boatmods.html shows where I mounted my
Wide 128, but doesn't really tell how. To flush mount the unit on the
aft cabin bulkhead opposite the compass, we cut a hole just large enough
so the unit would lay flush with the raised plastic on the back protruding
through the hole. The power and transducer connectors slide up, and the
bulkhead is just thick enough to hold them in place. We used silicone to
seal the display unit and I used a really large shroud cover to enclose the
wires. Over the winter I found a compass cover that should work to cover
the back of the unit in the cabin, and I'm going to find a more flexible
material to replace the shroud cover.

I think I mounted the Wide 128 in the perfect spot. The bulkhead is still
usable as a backrest, and the display is visible from the helm position
either port or starboard.
