A little bit of trivia here..."Monel" is not the name of a specific
metal, it is a trademark name for a nickel-copper alloy, produced by
Inco Alloys International. It has excellent corrosion resistance in a
marine environment.
Took a look at my trailer lights the other day. They really are
waterproof!!! The bulbs are in a self contained sealed unit... very well
made.
Got to figure out a way to stop that keel clonking around.....
Keel hinge pin looks really mickey mouse. Looks like the hole in the
keel plate rides directly on a threaded stud or bolt. Whole damn thing
is glassed in as well. Bloody thing leaks a bit also...Redesign....need
a sleeve (teflon?) riding on a smooth diameter (.375 dia. 316 s.s.
bolt).
