Dave:

I have yarn telltales on my working jib but don't recall how I made the
holes. I may have used an awl but not a hot one. Haven't had any
deterioration, but the hot awl sounds like a better idea since it would
probably fuse the threads together to prevent any unraveling. It might
require a light touch to keep from melting a hole larger than needed.

Anything new on your Catalina plans?
