When I was 18 years old and being a beach bum in Hawaii. I sailed to S.F. on
a 37 ft ketch. The trip had its moments,but coming under the Golden Gate
Bridge took us the most by suprise. the wind was incredible and caught us
off guard. We tried to take ours sails down and looked so sloppy the captain
( the oldest at 24) did not want to go into the yacht club due to
embarrassment. I earned a great deal of respect for the Gate then. It will
test your sailing ability and your courage.
