That would probably be advantageoous in shallow water, but my concern would
be, if the boat were in a weird attitude in rough water, the rudder might
not be in the water when I most need the control. It would work better on a
rudder mounted under the boat, where the flow would be restricted by the
hull above and the endplate below, I would think.
