Not specifically, but in general, if you don't squeeze in new grease /
squeeze out old grease, often enough, the old grease dries out, cakes
up, and then... When you do squeeze in new grease, it only slides into
the cracks in the dried out grease cakes, and you think you are in great
shape because you then see new grease coming out the back side. And you
say, "Boy am I taking good care of these bearings." But really they are
all dry and caked up inside and the bearings are getting shot to
pieces. Now I never actually did this on a trailer, but it also happens
to CV joints on VW buses and on front wheel drive cars.

So... If you put it on your calendar to do it every couple of months,
and do it, you'll be alright. But if you bought your trailer used,
and/or, have not done it in a long time, you would be much better off if
you take those bearings apart and regrease them, and start over from
scratch.

Every system will eventually without that "preventive maintenance."
