May I suggest "Cruising Guide to San Francisco Bay" by Carolyn & Bob Mehaffy?
I picked it up at the Sail show in Oakland, also got a free map of San
Francisco & San Pablo Bay thrown in too. On over 200 pages the book covers a
history, geography, geology, wind, weather, seasons, tides, currents,
equipment, navigation & seamanship as well as 27 anchorage's and marinas from
The City Front to Suisun City. The publisher is Paradise Cay Publications PO
Box 20, Middletown, CA 95461. This includes directions, phone numbers, even
chart #, etc., as of 1996 when it was published.
