I am considering putting a "trailerable" bottom paint on my P-15 and have a
couple of questions:

I have never put bottom paint on a boat without a boot stripe. How do I
determine how high to go with the paint?

Also, my P-15 has blue trim. Interlux Micron CSC is available in red,
blue brown, black, green, shark white and dark blue. Should I go with a
possible "clashing" blue or a color such as red?

Next time you go boating leave boat in water tied to dock for a while with
everything in it. (About 3 hrs.) Then, when you pull it out o water mark
scum line with either tape or a black marker pen. Paint up to 1 1/2" above
scum line or black marker pen marks. Use an "ABLATIVE COPOLYMER PAINT" so it
will not get "deactivated" from being outa water for a week. If you use ACP
paint you must give an extra coat to sides and centerline.

You must use dewaxer to clear/clean bottom before painting. Then use a
sandless primer from Pettit or Interlux. Bottom Paint is applied with a
roller. First coat should be different color (red?). 2 or 3 Subsequent coats
s/b color you want (blue?) That way you can tell when paint is wearing out.
You can use colored tape for a stripe above paint. You can also use original
first coat color for a boot stripe above bottom paint...

I used black Micron CSC Extra for bottom. Pettit ACP 50 is also good and will
last a couple of seasons without deactivating from being on a trailer. My
boat's been in water for 2 mos. now and Micron CSC has worked fine, so far...
even though boat sat on trailer with bottom paint for about 2 mos.

BTW:
Trinidad is great paint if you will leave in water permanently and never
place on trailer again. If you take boat with Trinidad out o water for
more'n a week paint becomes deactivated and loses antifouling property. Won't
work after that...
Don't use white bottom paint, it gets "dirty" and looks dirty real quick.
