While reinstalling my centerboard a few weeks ago, the swivel shackle that
fits on the centerboard decided to go for a swim. Since the water was 47
degrees and 4-5 feet deep I decided not to swim after it. I thought I could
easily replace the part. But none of the shackles I tried worked (not
enought depth). Calling IM, I was told that they no longer use the shackle,
that the line is just fed through the hole and back to the pulleys. Those of
you with newer boats- Does this work satisfactorily or does it bind up? And
has anyone replaced this shackle-if so where can it be found?
