I currently own a 22' Macgregor. I've had this boat over a year and and
have not had it in the water yet. I've been bogged down with too many
chores on other things like the old house I live in and such. I'm
currently intrigued by the wwp and want one. But I've been looking all
over for a commercial dealer of used potters who might take my Venture as a
trade-in, but it seems like the mfg sells direct and the used ones on the
market are in private hands who are not interested in trading. I have
neither the cash nor the inclination to own both boats, but would be
willing to negotiate with a seller who might be willing to trade.
As for the Venture; its not ready to sail just now. The swing keel is
removed and waiting for a paint job. I got stuck on a window renovation
project and one of the windows is out. The trailer needs paint and lights,
it has brand new tires. The sails are showing some age, but still
serviceable. The rudder needs some patching. Its dirty and could use some
varnish and paint. It seems to be pretty sound, though. I've got a 9.9
Johnson manual-start and
long-shaft outboard. I'm not sure of the year but it looks to be about 8
years old and it ran good when I bought it with the boat about 1 1/2 yrs
ago.
