I learned to sail on a Sidney Sabot in Ventura Harbor & Channel Islands
harbor a couple of years ago. I sailed out the Ventura Harbor once, just to
the end and back. The swells seemed big in my 8ft 60#lbs boat. What made it
exciting was the Capn' crew weight was #360, it was designed for about #150
max. I only sunk it once at Lake Tahoe, trying to get in it. The point was I
learned to sail in winds of up to 20+ kts without capsizing. I now sail a
much larger P-15 and hope to continue my record.
