The stern seems a fairly obvious place to pull someone in -- not only
is it intrinsically more stable, but they can help themselves on the
boarding ladder. If they are unconscious, then the rudder and ladder
may get in the way some, but on the other hand, you could tie off the
rope and climb partway down the ladder to help.
