John - If the topping lift supports the aft end of your boom at a point below
the gooseneck or forward end of your boom, the weight of the boom itself will
keep the gooseneck from sliding down. If your topping lift holds the boom
too high, there is a possibility that the gooseneck could slide down, but I
doubt if it would.
