OBW after sitting for 30 years in his garage, we fired it up and put it
on the stern of the 14' open sailboat we capsized in at Pine Flat
Reservoir--I had been smart enough to tie a cheater line to keep the
boat and engine from parting company--wish I would have been as smart
with respect to the daggerboard--it would have made righting the boat a
whole lot easier. That having been done, we were able to right the boat
without dismasting by "rolling" it over with a line tied to one gunwale
while the friendly powerboaters towed. When we had gotten it to its
side, we let the lines on the main and jib loose so that we weren't
trying to lift the lake. Needless to say, granddaughter decided not to
sail with grandma until after grandma traded the 14' open boat for P-15
#831 PyroTech, and she has been happy to sail with us ever since.
