Would a black garbage bag work over the end of the CDI
poking out from underneath a blue tarp? Is a blue
tarp OK? >>

You would need to haul it up the mast over the foresail. Black is a color
that heats up incredibly and might promote sail deterioration. I would use
something white.

I plan to some day mount another foresail halyard about 10" above current.
Then I will use a water resistant canvas cover/sock that ties with a lanyard
and wraps around the sail. Just like the mainsail cover.

My new genoa will have a UV strip. But, sailmaker advices against leaving it
up in summer heat and rains as it will get dirty.
