Little did I realize that when I made what I thought was a semi-okay
joke that it would get as much response as it did--but then nothing that
happens on this list surprises me, anymore--that's probably why I enjoy
it so much! I just finished a project that has to be printed and in the
hands of the folks at 5 am--that follows a 4 1/2 hour city council
meeting that I had to cover for my newspaper (during which a couple of
the councilmen traded barbs with me--oh for the life of a sea captain
from RH Dana's time, where I could give them a proper keelhauling!!) so
reading all of the delightful responses to my crack about nekid mermaids
(or mermen--oh what I visualized Judy with your description) managed to
give me the 2 am pick-me up that will get me through deadline tomorrow.

OBW Having had some experience with some of the more dense foam
products, the reply with the comment about a foam figurehead makes a lot
of sense. I agree with Judy, that it would be nice to see what would
work with a true bowspirit so that she could pile on a whole lot more
sail.
